Venue Details

Casa Alternavida is a boutique retreat house in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico near El Yunque National Rainforest and one mile from the ocean. The retreat center is 30 minutes from the San Juan International Airport and is a drug-, alcohol-, and smoke-free facility.

Accommodations & Tuition

Your accommodations include a private room with a full-size bed and a private indoor or outdoor shower. There are only 2 rooms with private outdoor showers and they are first come, first serve. Ocean temperatures around Puerto Rico are about 80-85 degrees year round – perfect outdoor shower weather. You’ll be able to note your shower preference on the registration form.

Retreat rates will be discussed during your consultation if you qualify to attend and depend on the payment plan you choose. Rates include all applicable taxes, tuition, flights (for US -based participants only), lodging, guided nature adventures, professional photoshoot, chef-prepared meals and snacks, and ground transportation to and from San Juan International airport.

Need more time to make your first payment?

You’ll be required to make at least a $500 non-refundable deposit to reserve your spot if accepted to attend. Once reserved, you’ll receive an email confirmation and will be able to select your payment plan for the remainder of your balance. Payment plan details and amounts will be discussed during your consultation if accepted.

    • After registration our team will contact you to coordinate travel details. You’ll fly into San Juan International Airport (SJU) and Casa Alternavida is located only 30 minutes away. Ground transportation to and from the airport is included in your retreat package.

      A team member from Casa Alternavida will meet you at the airport upon arrival and transport you to the retreat center. Since Puerto Rico is a US territory, you will not need a passport to travel, but please see the island’s Covid-19 travel restrictions below.

    • Yes! If you would like a double-occupancy room, please contact us at support@amarimeanslove.com with “Retreat: Double Occupancy” as the subject line to let us know the name of the friend you’d like to share rooms with. Double-occupancy rooms come with two single beds and a private bathroom with an indoor shower. Double-occupancy room rates are $500 less per person. Deposits for both parties must be paid in order to receive payment plan links showing the reduced double occupancy pricing. There are only 2 double-occupancy rooms available and they are first-come, first-serve.

    • Each day we will have group sessions, guided adventures, and free time. You’ll receive a daily itinerary upon arrival.

    • Yes! We’ve created an itinerary that includes adventures built into each day, including visits to El Yunque Tropical Rainforest, beaches, and other exclusive locations.

    • Yes! Let us know on your registration form if you have any dietary restrictions and our world-class chef will be able to accommodate you. 

    • We’ll email you a list of what to pack as we get closer to the retreat.

    • Until March 31, 2022: You may receive a 50% refund of funds paid (less the initial non-refundable $500 deposit).

      Until April 30, 2022: You may receive a 25% refund of funds paid (less the initial non-refundable $500 deposit but including your flight credit). After April 30, 2022: No refunds other than airline flight credits will be given.

    • Travelers should remember that mask usage is a federal law on airplanes and in airports. When entering any of the island’s three open airports, whether via commercial or private aircraft, travelers are required to fill out a Travel Declaration Form on the Puerto Rico Health Department’s online portal, which produces a QR code required to proceed. International travelers (arriving from somewhere other than the contiguous United States) or travelers who are not vaccinated must upload a negative PCR molecular or antigen COVID-19 test result to the portal in order to enter Puerto Rico. 

      Fully vaccinated travelers entering Puerto Rico on domestic flights are permitted to upload their vaccination cards instead of a negative test result. According to federal mandates, this requirement will remain in place for travelers on international flights. 

      All passengers will also be required to present their ID to ensure it aligns with the information entered on the Travel Declaration Form.

    • If travel restrictions interfere with our plans, we will move the retreat date to later in 2022. If that happens, we will attempt to plan the new dates based on the group’s availability and deposits will be transferred to the new dates. If the new dates don’t work for you, you’ll be able to transfer into our virtual Love Alchemy program or receive a 50% refund (including the cost of your flight and less the initial non-refundable $500 deposit).
